Cody Rhodes

Biography

Cody Garrett Runnels Rhodes was born in Marietta, Georgia on June 30, 1985. He is the son of WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes and the half-brother of Dustin Rhodes (formerly known as Goldust in WWE).

Cody began his wrestling career in 2006 in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), WWE's developmental territory at the time. He made his main roster debut in 2007 and has since become one of the most accomplished wrestlers in the industry.

After leaving WWE in 2016, Rhodes became one of the most influential figures in professional wrestling, competing in promotions like Ring of Honor, New Japan Pro Wrestling, and helping to found All Elite Wrestling (AEW) where he served as an Executive Vice President.

In 2022, Rhodes made a shocking return to WWE at WrestleMania 38, establishing himself as one of the company's top stars. His journey culminated at WrestleMania XL in 2024, where he defeated Roman Reigns to win the Undisputed WWE Championship, fulfilling his family's legacy.

Currently, Rhodes is in his second reign as WWE Champion after recapturing the title at SummerSlam 2025. He is recognized as one of the top stars in WWE and continues to be one of the most popular superstars on the roster.
